I do not like the way #OpenVibe is screengrabbing posts. I don't know if that is something the app is doing itself or other people are manually doing.

If I see my posts crossposted like that, I will be pissed.

If I want my posts on other platforms, I will take care of posting them there myself or join those platforms.

I could not help myself, my xpost script now correctly splits multiple URLs and mulitple hashtags correctly so they display correctly on both sites!

I finally moved my article on using IFTTT to auto-post from (almost) any random source to a Mastodon account from my database-and-php-based blog (WordPress until a few days ago, now ClassicPress) to my Eleventy-generated static troubleshooting site!

I wrote it in 2017 when I set up a bot to auto-post new blog entries, and I've updated it occasionally to add more detail, make corrections, help troubleshoot problems, and address changes in IFTTT’s system and in the broader social media landscape.

It's less important now since there are various RSS-to-Mastodon tools, more ActivityPub-capable platforms, and several bridges, but it's still more flexible than using a dedicated tool or bridge, and easier than writing your own.
