"Home (When Shadows Fall)", a pop ballad from 1932, recorded in #BlackbirdStudio on January 25th of this year for my student project.

---
Ev'ning marks the close of day
Skies of blue begin to grey
Crimson hues are fading in the West

Ev'ning ever brings to me
Dreams of days that used to be
Memories of those I love the best

Discussione continua

A fun conversation starter with my wife for later today:

"So looking at this diagram, where do you want to record your vocals? This is kind of the default booth for vocalists if you're recording a full band, but this is the one Martina McBride and Wendy Moten prefer."

[Iso 3 and 'vocal iso' respectively]

Turning in my session paperwork tonight upcoming #studio tracking day. I'm picking microphones and assigning channels and building the #ProTools session. We have to show planning docs so they know we know what we're doing (ha lolsob) and won't damage their gear. So I get to diagram out where everyone will be placed and where the mics will plug in and what outboard gear I'll use.

Kinda fun, but overwhelming options. Trying to keep it simple.

I just rsync'd so it may be wonky for a few minutes (just hit refresh), but I have updated my blog with thoughts at the (almost) midpoint of my studio engineering program at #BlackbirdStudio in #Nashville. Also mentioned: wild studio parties, #Inkscape, #ProTools, and general career thoughts.
