Ok, I spent yesterday afternoon trying to get #RAID configured on my #lenovo #ThinkPad #P70 - to no success.

I found this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AyCC1NGe8a8&t=36s of the similar #p50 and configuring #RAID which shows the #BIOS interface but my P70's only show the "non-raid physical discs" I do not have an option for RAID volumes. Note I have upgraded the BIOS to the most recent version on lenovo's web site. Any thoughts?

I have attached 2 #screenshots of what the BIOS displays - I'm trying to configure the RAID on the two 512GB #NVMe sticks.

Ok. 2 seconds boot time. This is kinda close to #templeos territory.

No amount of modern #windows debloating will get you this close. A simple startx will bring me #xfce on and get it using like a regular computer. I think Windows XP is the only one that can compete to this kind of boot time.

Reading a November 2001 issue of #PCWorld discussing the upgrade experience for #Windows XP and its surprising reviewers back then were recommending only PC's less than 2 years old should upgrade. Yet, #Windows11 supports some 7th generation processors which date back to 9 years ago. Say what you will, but I think #Microsoft's compatibility cut off in 2025 is somewhat reasonable. But the issue is, PC's last longer and requirements for #Windows10 are the same as #WindowsVista 18 years ago.

I think I found the problem to my Gateway desktop computer is not posting. I think it's the motherboard. The capacitors are broken. So, it's a bad motherboard, not a memory problem.

Any retrocomputing folks have a good recommendation for free screen recording software that works well on Vista?

I had a dream that #Microsoft went back to the #Windows Vista/7 look. Windows had those glassy translucent borders again.

It was nice. #WindowsVista / #Windows7 was peak Windows. They completely lost the plot after that.

So verdammt wahr...
