A while back I wished #gnome would open stacked #windows slightly offset and it seems #gnome48 does exactly that. Nice. #linux

I know nothing about #hdr, but thanks to #gnome48 I now have the ability to enable it for both my #workstation display (ASUS VP32UQ) and my #laptop (ThinkPad Z16 AMD).
I don't play games and use my computers for #music production, #graphic design, #video editing and so on.
So far I've noticed that with HDR turned on, everything looks a little more lifeless and brighter, maybe less contrasty. Is this the idea and does HDR make sense for my use case?

This feeling that the #bicycle looks like new, runs smoother, shifts better and generally feels crisper after a major service, this exact feeling I just got right now after installing the stable update for #manjaro with #gnome48 and kernel 6.14. #linux rocks!

Su Linux ( #archlinux con #gnome48 ) ho #flywheel per WordPress in locale e mi chiedevo se c'è qualcosa di analogo per Drupal (o se tanto vale togliere flywheel e usare xampp e similari).

After upgrading to #gnome 48, I had to reinstall my extensions, but they all worked once I'd done that. I wasn't left with any that are broken. #gnome48

GNOME 48 was released yesterday with a battery charge limit option. It only supports specific laptops with a start/end charge threshold. In the future we hope to expand this by support the new charge_types kernel API in UPower. This requires existing drivers to be ported to this new kernel sysfs API. https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/upower/upower/-/issues/285

There are (sadly) still multiple out of tree drivers which could be mainlined to support a battery preservation option. But I haven't been able to get my hands on an Acer, Asus TUF, Gigabyte laptop to get this going.

GNOME 48 is out, @pabloyoyoista, @FineFindus, and I celebrated it. With pizza. Great to see what this release brought us.
We did so after revisiting and merging quite a number of things, so we're off to a good start …

I have just skimmed the changelog. Wow, #GNOME48 is for sure the most relevant #GNOME release in a while!

Gnome 48 also brings so many improvements to Gnome Mobile.
Scrolling is just as smooth as it's on Android.
OSK and Touch text selection are better now.
And the cameras have started working on #Oneplus6
Overall, it's getting to where it is starting to feel like a real alternative ️.

My dream of crawling away from the clutches of Big-Tech gets closer.
