We have had such great living wage research in BC for so many years.

Every year, the gap between the minimum wage and the living wage is a horrible embarrassment. Virtually no politicians are working hard to make the minimum wage, the actual living wage. Capitalism is filth.

And I get it: so hard to change the political culture of a country so that parties running their own elections, is understood to be corrupt.

Why would they ever change; they've always gained from the corruption.

We have the same problem in Canada: convincing politicians who can get majority control from 39% of the vote or less, under #ftpt, to switch to a #PR system, which 2/3 of Canadians want. The system is corrupt, but they benefit.

It's absolutely mind-boggling that Americans have let political parties run the elections for centuries now, and think they actually have ever lived in a democracy that wasn't corrupt from the very beginning of the electoral season.

Elections.ca has been running elections in Canada forever, paper ballots, fully staffed, nonpartisan, judicial recount legislation. I don't know man, it's not so hard.
