the PROPAGANDA sitecorto.alto | the PROPAGANDA sitecorto.alto (stylized in lowercase, as a wordplay on his actual surname) is the project of Glasgow based multi-instrumentalist, producer Liam Shortall, who creates jazz that is infused with his beatmaking skills and appetite for crossing genres. His music is fairly eclectic in nature, moving between a number of elements that serve as its components: classic fusion, club grooves, jungle and hip-hop inspired beats, as well as emotionally layered balladry, all of which are nicely blended in his work. He is a stand-out at his primary instrument, the trombone, in addition to being a top-notch composer and a bandleader. An exceptional roster of bandmates he has been working with (Fergus McCreadie on keys, Graham Costello on drums, and others) are also quite noteworthy in that regard.
