Most of the soldiers are captured or killed during their approach. Bitterman crashes outside the planned area and is forced to infiltrate the Stroggs' capital alone. Yamagi Quake II is an open source, single/multi (offline co-op), multi-platform port that emphasizes gameplay and graphics fidelity while offering its modernization (OpenGL 3.2, 64-bit, multi-screen support, 7.1 stereo sound, ...). Moreover it offers a good installer that takes care of the automatic loading of the shareware version to get started. A very good tool, easy to use.

🕶️ A view of its UI (v. RA 0.24, on my Linux PC) with the extension “Cleopatra: Queen of the Nile” extension. I built a few huts, buildings, paths and water points, which brought in the population. A few ostriches are feeding here and there.

📚️ Pharaoh (with Akhenaten engine) is a city-builder management game developed by Impressions Games and published by Sierra in 1999. It takes the game system of the Caesar III series and transposes it to the construction of an ancient Egyptian city. It benefits from an expansion, Cleopatra: Queen of the Nile, published in 2000. The player administers a plot of land in Ancient Egypt, building a city and developing trade with the aim of turning it into a flourishing Pharaonic (and Predynastic) city. Akhenaten is a libre, multiplatform compatible engine (derived from the Julius/Augustus projects for Caesar 3), making the game multiplatform and adapted to modern hardware. A job well done!

🕶️ An FPS view where the player armed with a rifle walks along a plane of the facility with a glazed aspect in which the floor tiles are reflected

📚️ Quake 2 is the 2nd episode of the series, and an FPS in which the player is Bitterman, a Marine taking part in a counter-offensive of the Terrans on the planet Stroggos. Most of the soldiers are captured or killed during their approach. Bitterman crashes outside the area and is forced to infiltrate alone the Stroggs capital. Quake II RTX is a free compatible engine using the power of real-time ray tracing of Nvidia RTX graphics cards to boost the realism of the display. It comes with a few shareware levels and can use the full version. Awesome.
