All Canberrians, and people who want to travel to Canberra in July, the Canberra Vintage Computer Exhibition is back on this year, on Saturday the 19th of July. There will be an invite only day on the Sunday, however there's no details yet on it.

Come along and see vintage computers and video game consoles, as well as talks and round table discussions. And me :)

This year it is being hosted at another school, details can be found in the attached image.

Discussione continua

This is one of these cases where it's totally unsurprising, but still really upsetting at the same time.

I haven't bought a comic in a store for years now (even at Impact Comics at Civic). That's a product of both a busier time of life for me, and the availability of anything on the internet.

But boy did I previously. For a while I was collecting all the Hellboy / BPRD books from Dee's. Dee herself would usually be the one handing it over, and recognised me when coming into the store.

I used to take the kids in there for Free Comic Book Day. Browsing the aisles, checking out the T-Shirts, and the various figurines.

Maybe this is me wearing my old-man Gen-X pants, but I really think we've lost something here.

The LNP proposed ACT job cuts are nuts. So nuts they probably wouldn’t/couldn’t happen.

The ACT population is 475k. Making 41k APS jobs disappear is something like 9% of the population.

And of course those people eat, drink, shop, cycle and do all sorts of things in Canberra that they would no longer do. So there would be a flow on effect for the whole rest of the economy.

I’m not an APS, but my company works with MDBA and DCCEEW (and also the state govts). We’re currently funded by DCCEEW, but would that be possible with such drastic cuts to those depts?

It seems so silly. Obviously they haven’t properly thought this policy through.

Ridiculous policy. #Dutton will cut 41000 jobs in the federal capitals 68000 strong public service. Also going to increase defence spending even though ASIO & defence are major public service employers in #Canberra? Basically Canberra is a lost cause for the coalition so he will bash us to appeal to wider electorate who forget Services Australia is run from here amongst others. #Auspol
