France has been kicked out of Chad and has been scrambling to exit it's old colony by December 31st.
France was involved in 26 coups in Africa since the 1960s and helped assassinate 22 African leaders. Fourteen African nations were STILL paying taxes to France at the start of the decade. The number is now rapidly decreasing. After the Chad exit France will no longer have official bases in West Africa.
Congratulations to Chad for this huge step!
Finally!
French troops will stop to protect the dictator of Chad!
Hoping that European countries will start to support only African democracies, and let these military dictatorships to their own!
whatever. if they want russian mercenaries to enslave and murder them, let them have what they want.
there's much more to gain by establishing friendly, strong and long-lasting relations with African democracies.
Let's ditch any imperialist mindset and start to treat African countries like any other country.
I know. But if they choose russia, I think the choice must be respected.
Africa is big and diverse.
"the West" is losing opportunities by treating it as a big blob, instead of focusing on reliable partners.
Dictators like "President" Deby, son of "President" Deby (which stayed in power for 30 years straight - talk about coups! ) is really not reliable.
I don't want to have anything to do with shit like that, as anyone who values human rights and democracy should.
well, there's a difference: in Chad the French troops were there to help the dictator (!).
they were doing what russia was doing in Syria: help him fight the rebels, mainly the islamists in the North.

Do you think they will build a free and democratic society? Will Israel let them?
