Finally! After two months at the repair shop I could pick up my completely revised turntable. For a short while I thought I could do it myself but after discovering the SME connector was worn out and having damaged the wiring inside the tone arm in the process I decided to have it looked after by professionals.

And they did a stellar job although it took them a long time which was mainly due to the SME connector taking weeks to arrive.

Stopped by a local used record store. Found a huge pile of 78's in box of freebies out front. Felt like I should support them a little so I went in and bought a few nice ones. Probably paid too much (though "Evil Woman" and "Night Creepin" by Walter Davis rocks). Anyway, I think my average is less than a dollar each, so not bad on the whole.

Finally mounted the TV on the wall at the new place to make room for the #turntable. So today’s morning is accompanied by #Avantasia.

A local record store sometimes leaves out a box of free stuff. Usually it's just crappy records nobody wants. I always look because sometimes there's 78's. Tonight I found a box of Edison Cylinders. I have a player so you can bet I nabbed this.

Ich hab mal gedacht, daß ich all diese wunderschöne Musik besitzen könne.
Darum ist meine Plattensammlung auch so angewachsen.

Es war jedoch ein Trugschluß.
Man kann und darf sie nicht sein Eigen nennen.

Man muß keine hyperteure Anlage haben.
Die Schönheit der Musik entsteht im Inneren des Ich's. In der Seele. In den Gedanken.
