My tactic for reserving a seat next to me on a busy commuter train of getting a burrito and beer at Waterloo and eating on the train now has an 80% success rate. Very few brave souls want to sit next to beer and burrito guy.

#BadPicsOfFood time again... another chicken and bacon pasta bake with garlic, herb & mozzarella flatbread.

Made enough to do about 6 portions because I like batch cooking, and for those who didn't know... reheating pasta actually lowers it's calorie count by about 10%.

Something to do with the starch & carbs ... nuke it in the microwave and it's a bit lower... Don;t fully understand the science behind, just remember reading a study on it about 8yrs ago.

Of course... adding the flatbread, kinda screws that up.

I semi cheat with this too... cook of some diced chicken and bacon in some butter (300g chicken, 200g bacon). Add a jar of pasta bake sauce and let it start to simmer, add a tub of mascapone and about 100g mozzarella. Stir until thoroughly mixed together, put in some tomoato puree to get it back to a tomato taste (all that cheese nullifies it).

Meanwhile, cook up your pasta... I do about 600g because that's enough to do 5-6 portions.

Drain the pasta, place in a large oven dish... or several smaller ones... you do you. Pour over the sauce and mix thoroughly. Add another 100g mozzarella on top. Bake in the ove for about 20-25 mins until nice and crispy on top.

Meanwhile pop the flatbread under the grill to cook up.

Serve an approprite size portion and slice up the flatbread,

Then just #NomNomNom

#BadPicsOfFood for today is 2 lightly toasted ciabatta rolls, filled with honey roast ham, mature cheddar, sea salt and balsamic vinegar crisps and a smear of caramelised onion chutney.

#BadPicsOfFood for Sunday is the obligatory 'Sunday Roast'

Slices of roast chicken, sage & onion stuffing, cauliflower cheese, honey roasted parsnips & carrots and of course roast potatoes.

Smothered with far too much gravy... just how I like it.

My sister, brother in law and I, took my mum out for an afternoon tea today... Ya know, because it's mothers day tomorrow.

Couldn't eat it all, so we brought some cake back for this evening... She's only gone and left it behind at my sisters.

#BadPicsOfFood I like coffee, I like making my own at home with my machine... I also really like opening a box of fresh supplies for the next few months.

Was a quick lunch for today and another not very healthy one... Tonight, chicken & veg noodles which is kinda healthier.

So simple yet so satisfying..

#BadPicsOfFood for today, after finishing work for the day and going to do the grocery shopping... I treated myself to a latte, mini jam donut and choc chip cookie for a mid afternoon sugar rush.

It's actually the first thing I've eaten all day... ran out of crumpets for my breakfast and was debating if I should have some lunch before shopping for food... or risk the hunger driving my purchases... hunger purchasing won.

I will at least have a proper dinner this evening... some of the lamb casserole I made on Sunday, topped with crispy sliced potatoes.
