Synopsis:
Nat and Autumn Collier are finally ready for a family after 8 blissful years of marriage. Autumn is pregnant with their dream baby thanks to the miracle of IVF, but when her health takes a turn for the worse, Nat is forced to advocate for her ill wife and beat the clock that is Indiana’s 10-week abortion ban. It seems that no one is taking her concerns seriously, especially Autumn’s OB Dr. Colter, who suddenly seems like he might have something to do with the negative effects of Autumn’s pregnancy.

Wow, my #KoboPlus TBR list is getting out of control. In the past, I’ve only needed to re-up my subscription every six months or so, for one month, to read a small handful of books, but lately I’m adding books to the list hand over fist.

Not sure if they improved their algorithm so their recommendations are working better, or if there are a lot more authors/publishers trying it in light of Amazon hijinks. Either way, it’s worked! I’ll be turning on my subscription in April and keeping it for at least a few months this time (I like to turn it off so I can catch up on library and bought books in between)

I see that #Malaysia and #Singapore have joined the countries who can access #KoboPlus

If you’re newly looking to give it a go, I’ve been listing my favourite K+ reads for a while now. Mostly in the SFF, history, romance, and historical non-fiction areas. Maybe browse my tag, see you what you find:

Just added my recent library haul to my spreadsheet and I've already borrowed €191,- worth of books, which means I've already read more than the fee of €66,- (Dutch libraries you pay for your subscription) in January alone. I've also read €132,- worth of books on my #koboplus and #storytel subscriptions, I need to read a bunch more to read the yearly fee worth but it's way more than the montly fee. #bibliotheek #libraries #books #data #datanerd

I’ve cancelled my Kindle Unlimited subscription, because... well, Jeff Bezos.

You are on Mastodon, instead of Facebook or X, so you already know- we have options:

Kindle Unlimited has always irked me. Especially the exclusivity requirement for authors. It feels like the strong-arm tactic of a monopoly.

And now with many of the nation's billionaires showing off their oligarchic tendencies...

I've switched to Kobo Plus.

Now I don't feel as guilt for forcing authors into a corner. While KU may have more books, they both have millions to choose from. If a book isn't under KU, it is more than likely available on Kobo Plus (audiobooks too)!

For the #Amazon strike, if you're a #Kindle #reader now would be a great opportunity to try another #ebook store. This isn't comprehensive and I'm not being paid for it. It's just some options to think about.

#Smashwords is great for folks who like to read #IndieAuthors. They also publish things that Amazon things are too naughty for you and they have one of the better author payouts as far as I can tell. #Kobo has a subscription service which is competitively priced with Amazon's #KindleUnlimited and, because they don't require exclusivity, you can get a wider variety of books in #KoboPlus.

Your local #library may also partner with a service like #Hoopla, #Libby, or #cloudLibrary to offer you access to free ebooks and #AudioBooks and the writers still get paid with those options.
