This is so dopey. People can already add tiny houses to their property without consent, by making them nonpermanent (eg on wheels). So this isn't really about increasing housing supply.
If NatACT First care about that, they wouldn't have defunded social housing builds that were already underway.

The Spanish government is moving to make renting more affordable and boost the supply of homes.
While salaries have increased by around 20% over the past decade, the average rental in Spain has doubled during the same period. There has been an 11% increase over the last year alone and housing has become Spaniards' biggest worry.
"On the supply side of the rental market, our national vacancy index now sits at 6.9 percent, the highest reading in the history of that monthly data series, which goes back to the start of 2017. . . . multifamily occupancy has been slowly but consistently easing for over three years amid an influx of new inventory. 2024 saw the most new apartment completions since the mid-1980s, and with 750 thousand units still in the construction pipeline . . ."

Spain bans 'golden' investor visas for non-EU citizens in a bid to curb the housing crisis.
Spain this week stopped allowing non-EU citizens who make property investments access to residency visas, closing off a pathway to Spanish citizenship.
