I was on a FB page reading an explanation from a small wool company in the UK who has put a halt to shipping to the US (wholesale and web site orders) until they understand the impact of the tariffs on the price of a skein of wool in the US stores.
MAGA to the rescue!
They told the wool company to pay the tariff and to eliminate the VAT and there would be no increase to the consumer In the US.

Per Norman at #NimbleNeedles on #YouTube, swatches can be marked for needle size by tying knots - in this case, seven knots for US7 needle. Because I NEVER remember.
Another way is to knit in the correct number as purl bumps right in the swatch. Great hack!

I'm working on a new video game and didn't feel like making pixel art, as I usually do. So I'm trashbashing every boss and using their photos as the sprites instead.
I tried to finish the first boss, a bull tank, this weekend and got pretty far. I still have to make the other set of tank treads and horns, then paint it all.
A "how-it-started/how-it's-going" post on the birdhouse gourds showing first 11 harvested vs all 16 now:
-All are dry and clean, outer skin removed
-2 are varnished and in birdhouse form; we need to set up a jig for the drill to get holes straighter
-3 failures. One got a hole punched thru while washing (weak spot?). 2 small, late season cracked when drying; I think they weren't mature at harvest
Now to sort which I'll keep and what to do with them!
