George Ellenburg (he/him/his)<p>I should also point out that <a href="https://bofh.social/tags/Webmin" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Webmin</a> is not exposed to the open internet. It used to be, before I installed <a href="https://bofh.social/tags/Tailscale" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Tailscale</a>, and back then every account required <a href="https://bofh.social/tags/MFA" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#MFA</a>, but since I've transitioned to Tailscale for my intranet for all my servers both at home and remote Webmin is now only exposed to my <a href="https://bofh.social/tags/Tailnet" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Tailnet</a>. Which means that if Tailscale doesn't come up for some reason I need to login to the server console (royal pain in the ass but still.) <a href="https://bofh.social/tags/sysadmin" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#sysadmin</a> <a href="https://bofh.social/tags/linux" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#linux</a></p>
Stephen McNamara<p>Alright <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/firefox" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>firefox</span></a>, you have some deeeep pockets and have had years to make the Firefox Account Server a first class citizen, you failed. </p><p>Taking control of bookmarks and jumped to <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/linkding" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>linkding</span></a> 🥳 Love it so far!</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/private" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>private</span></a> on my <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/tailnet" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>tailnet</span></a> one central management point for all my bookmarks 🫶</p><p>😎 hosted as a <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/nix" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>nix</span></a> oci-container because I'm cool like that</p>
George Ellenburg (he/him/his)<p>New <a href="https://bofh.social/tags/MailCow" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#MailCow</a> server setup and installed at <a href="https://bofh.social/tags/Netcup" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Netcup</a>. Their prices are definitely competitive. The latest <a href="https://bofh.social/tags/Docker" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Docker</a> and <a href="https://bofh.social/tags/MailCow" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#MailCow</a><span> now running too.<br><br>Using a </span><a href="https://bofh.social/tags/Debian12" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Debian12</a> <a href="https://bofh.social/tags/ARM64" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#ARM64</a><span> server.<br><br></span><a href="https://bofh.social/tags/Postfix" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Postfix</a> and <a href="https://bofh.social/tags/Dovecot" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Dovecot</a> are the only apps exposed to the public internet. Everything else is only exposed with <a href="https://bofh.social/tags/Tailscale" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Tailscale</a> to my internal <a href="https://bofh.social/tags/Tailnet" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Tailnet</a>. Should help me to sleep better at night not really having to worry about someone gaining access to SSH, Docker, <a href="https://bofh.social/tags/Webmin" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Webmin</a> or MailCow since all of that is only bound/ listening to my Tailnet ipaddr.</p>
Eddie Roger<p>After a few nights and weekends of mashing keys, I have figured the right order to bring up a <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/nixos" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>nixos</span></a> instance built for <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/proxmox" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>proxmox</span></a>, provision it with <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/colmena" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>colmena</span></a>, shove secrets on it with <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/sops" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>sops</span></a>, bring up a docker container, and get it on my <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://hachyderm.io/@tailscale" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>tailscale</span></a></span> <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/tailnet" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>tailnet</span></a>. I don’t know how many times I nearly gave up, but it paid off, and I’m thrilled. </p><p>Now to do it again.</p>
Brian Costa<p><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Tailscale" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Tailscale</span></a> is neat! Just made my first <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Tailnet" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Tailnet</span></a>.</p>
