Shantell Powell<p>When I was 18, I was an activities counselor at a provincial park. One day, I noticed one of the kids breaking out in measles. I immediately packed up a bunch of games and puzzles and walked him back to his campsite. </p><p>His mother was FURIOUS that I had ruined her vacation. She tried to have me fired for not keeping a sick, infectious child around all the other kids when she just wanted to stay in her trailer and day drink or something. Fortunately, my boss was on my side with this and I was praised for my quick thinking. I felt really bad for the kid who needed rest and medical attention. His mom didn't give a shit about him. <a href="https://c.im/tags/SummerJob" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>SummerJob</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/Measles" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Measles</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/Outbreak" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Outbreak</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/BadParents" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>BadParents</span></a></p>
