An interactive discussion session about the possible "unhappy paths" of altnet business models, when both scaling-up and selling-out fail.Sadly I'm not going this month as I'm WFH, but I enjoyed myself last time. The talk was really interesting and the food was nice.

ChewieDavid Groves' (<a href="https://www.fibrecat.org/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank">https://www.fibrecat.org/</a>) talk at <a href="https://mammut.gogreenit.net/tags/NetMCR" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#NetMCR</a> about measuring and calculating the current time was really interesting, explaining crazy timezones, how DST has changed over the years, leap years and seconds, and then how computers sync time to each other via <a href="https://mammut.gogreenit.net/tags/NTP" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#NTP</a> and <a href="https://mammut.gogreenit.net/tags/PTP" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#PTP</a>.I learnt that you can even get expansion cards that have mini atomic clocks on them! If you caught David's last presentation to NetMcr, you'll not be surprised to hear that this presentation goes very deep into how we deal with time in networking (and in physics) and how that can affect what we're doing with all this Internet stuff.If i finish work on time, I will be going 🏃
