Need some Linux advice.
Thinking about getting a Mint mini PC to use next to my Windows PC. I don't use a laptop, I prefer tablet and phone, and need a PC for work stuff. I've the money to buy one pre-installed at Ubuntu shop, which also saves me stress if something isn't working as it should. Dual boot isn't an option.
Are there any drawbacks with a mini PC?
Bueno, #Linux Mint instalado. Objetivo conseguido.

Longshot, but anyone tried to get PS4 dualshock working with #Steam on #Linux #Ubuntu (technically #LinuxMint, but same diff)? Steam seems to recognize it, but none of the games do with or without the steam input overlay thing--save for the trackpad which it reads as a mouse. Supposedly it works for most, so I'm not sure what I'm missing. Tried it with several games, none worked (wired and bluetooth).
My computer is dualbooted so I tried in windows and they all worked.

Ich habe gerne und auch mit Überzeugung von Windows auf #LinuxMint gewechselt. Vieles ist super und unkompliziert. Dennoch gibt es Situationen in denen ich basteln muss. Das klappt meistens, aber man sollte etwas IT Ahnung mitbringen. Wichtig ist die Einstellung. Wer denkt bei einem Wechsel nichts Neues lernen zu müssen, der irrt. Manches wird man auch gar nicht zum Laufen bekommen.

... Aber es scheitert schon bei #Laptophardware, egal ob alter oder neuer:
Ich gabe es mit #HP, #Asus, #Toshiba und #Lenovo probiert: bei keinem gab es nicht irgend ein Treiber, der entweder ganz fehlte oder nicht vollständig lief (z. B. nur 60 statt 144 Hz).
Server oder "Surf-Laptop", ok, aber ein Arbeitsrechner muss zu 99% funktionieren, und Windoof legt hier die Messlatte sehr niedrig.

Ultima mia scoperta: ieri avevo bisogno di 2 gesture da fare con il mouse per passare allo spazio di lavoro successivo e precedente. Con #LinuxMint non è possibile farlo senza l'aiutino di un programma esterno, così ho scoperto "input-remapper".
Adesso se faccio "tasto centrale + movimento a sinistra" passo al workspace di destra e viceversa.

As a former Microsoft Windows user I chose #linuxmint several weeks ago. It is a good choice to get into the world of Linux for me. Definetly worth a look!

@dhry @codemonkeymike @wamserma @amerpie That may not be true or fair to say about him at all, but it always cracks me up when #Linux users talk about hating Windows…and *also* hating any DE that doesn’t still have the Start menu/taskbar interface that Microsoft invented and introduced in 1995, even though they seldom admit they’re using a clone of the Windows interface, or give Microsoft credit. (Lookin’ at you, #LinuxMint 
)

I built my first computer when I was 9. Stopped doing that around 12, but I never stopped tinkering with hardware and software.
This week, I found an old laptop with Windows on it.
I had been wanting to use Linux for the longest, so here we go.
