Bağlama<blockquote><p>« Le Nigéria est une “démocrature” : l’université publique est une réplique des formes de domination de la société. Le ciné-club propose autre chose : ses principes de base sont la gratuité, l'accessibilité à tous, et une répartition égale de la parole. D’un seul coup, c'est comme si toutes les hiérarchies de l’université explosaient. Progressivement, les gens se sont rendus compte que c’était un lieu où la parole ne portait pas à conséquence, en-dehors de la salle. Le ciné-club est un endroit où le sexisme et l’homophobie étaient vraiment combattus – l’homosexualité est condamnée par la loi au Nigéria. »</p></blockquote><blockquote><p>« Ça a été l’une de ses réussites : ça a permis à des gens marginalisés de se retrouver ; des ponts ont été dressés entre des gens qui ne se connaissaient pas forcément, parce que les étudiants viennent de toute la fac. En fait, il y avait une extrême minorité de cinéphiles : une communauté s’est créée, c'est un lieu unique au sein du campus, et dans la ville d’Ibadan. Alors il y a eu de plus en plus de monde. Bağlama<p><strong>« Coconut Head Génération »</strong></p><p>Tous les jeudis un groupe d’étudiant·es de l’université d’Ibadan au Nigeria organise un ciné-club. Regarder ensemble des films libère la parole et va transformer ce simple rendez-vous cinéphile en véritable agora où s’élabore une pensée critique, politique et militante. Cette jeunesse, à qui on dit qu’elle a la tête dure et vide comme une noix de coco, va s’emparer de ce qualificatif méprisant et l’ériger comme un étendard dans sa lutte pour un meilleur Nigeria.</p><p>Grand Prix au Cinéma du Réel 2023.
