Rob McBryde :redhat:I think that <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Pop_OS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Pop_OS</a> is overkill for running CasaOS, especially since I plan to unplug all peripherals and hide the computer away in the corner somewhere. I'm considering switching to Ubuntu Server which <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/CasaOS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#CasaOS</a> supports.I've seen people recommend Debian, Xubuntu, and others. My computer hosting this server is a 2017 Lenovo Thinkstation with i7 processor, 16GB RAM, and a 512GB SSD running the OS.

Supongo que acabaré directamente con docker en un ordenador "de verdad" o en VPS pero me está gustando esto del <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/selfhosting" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#selfhosting</a>

Homeserver, cool - I don't need that at home, my computer is running 24/7, I play music with my local foobar and I don't have a smart TV or Smart Home devices. For backups, I use external HDs, heck even my router already offers a (very very) simple NAS that I can access from outside my home.

Debian because it was recommended by <a href="https://indieweb.social/tags/CasaOS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#CasaOS</a> one of the highly praised home server OS/interfaces.
